Season 11 of RuPaul's Drag race is almost a wrap, and as usual, it has been a pleasure watching the elite collection of Queens grow as performers, bond with one another, and share their charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent with us all.
I've been a fan of the show for a while now, and the fearlessness of the artists that participate in the often grueling (if always entertaining) run of challenges is a huge inspiration, especially to someone who constantly second-guesses almost every creative choice and usually ends up crippled by anxiety in the process.
While very fond of all of the girls this time around, one Queen who has won my heart and respect with qualities that everyone should aspire to emulate is the super lovable Nina West. I bow down in awe of her charm, wit, humor, and her most magical feat on the show: reminding our image-obsessed world that kindness is the most stunning look you can turn.
Though she is gone from the competition, she has left her mark on thousands of people across the globe, and continues to inspire as a role model spreading love and tolerance on social media as well as in real life. I'm not a regular creator of fan art to begin with, and this is my first from Drag Race, so she's definitely made an impression on me.
Keep up the amazing work, Nina!
